Laszlo Fischer was my father. He survived the Holocaust and built a life defined by a family and a life centered around resilience, generosity and the importance of taking care of others. Some of my greatest memories revolve around sitting together around the Shabbat table.

We lost my father on April 5, 2020. Laszlo’s Caring Kitchen carries his name — and the values he gave us — forward. For my 50th birthday, I can’t think of a more meaningful gift than giving thousands more people a place at the table.
